So, I'm going to write a book on rabbit hopping. It won't be anything super fancy or anything, but it will be a great guide of information for future rabbit hoppers, and new trainers, etc. I will probably be asking quite a lot of questions as I write the book. I'm hoping to have a chapter pretty much on everything, including cage & diet & medical, because someone may just see the book, be interested, and not even have a rabbit yet. So...I'm going to need pictures, and interviews for some chapters, and all that good stuff. I'll let ya know what I might need when the time comes. And you will be credited for anything you provide for the book, don't worry! I'm going to start the book with an introduction of myself probably, you know something like "I've owned rabbits for yadda yadda yadda. Rabbit hopping came to me as yadda yaddda yadda." lol. So I may need some structural advice as well. I also need some information on the history, so I can write one of the sections on that...and I'm hoping to interview Linda from the US about how rabbit hopping got started in the US. So, if you have any advice, ideas, anything at all, please post here! Id love to here what you all have to say! Emily

Hi Emily,
After writing a book myself (non-rabbit related), and researching publishing a book, I realised that it is a LOT of hard work to write, edit, and publish a book. It usually ends up costing you more than you earn, and it can be difficult to find a publisher without an agent. However, while reading about publishing books, I found out about e-books. I don't know if you've heard of them or not, since I hadn't, but they're basically books in a PDF file that are published online. People can pay (or not, depending on if you want to charge them or not), to be sent the book. I think that an e-book would be a good choice for your rabbit hopping book, unless you feel up to having a stab at getting it published. (:
The way that you are talking about structuring your book, I think you could easily make it into a big, detailed website. (: If you are only making this book to provide information to others for free, it might be easier just to make a website. It's totally up to you, though.
I think it sounds like a great idea to include people's stories and interviews throughout the book. Just a word of advice, though: don't put all of the interveiws, stories, etc. into one section. Spread them out into chapters relevant to what the story is about. Because it is very boring to read hard information over and over, people may get bored. However, in my experience, books that have information written in an easy-to-understand and brief way, in between lots of pictures and personal experiences catches a reader's attention.
Include lots of chapter titles, but not too many sub-headings. You know you have too many subheadings when one section is only a paragraph long. I assume you are writing this book for teenagers and adults, so you don't want to have one sentence of information, but rather a paragraph or two. If you can't think of enough information to write this much for one subheading, then combine two subheadings. For example "Feeding Treats" could become "Vegetables and Treats in a Rabbit's Diet".
If you want any help with structure, I'd be happy to help. I sometimes skip over grammar and such, but I'm pretty good at English, and I actually recently wrote and had edited a 44,000 word book, so I'm still in book-editing mode.
(:
