Has anybody of you tried to bottle feed a rabbit kit? Last Sunday I lost my hopping rabbit 13 days after the delivery of 5 kits. 4 kits had got a "new" mother in the rabbitry of a friend and I kept the last kit because I thought she could manage to have the last on. Sunday morning the last kit had lost much weight and I started bottle feeding her and Sunday afternoon my hopping rabbit past away . My little kit is growing and is very active. Aase

I'm sorry to hear about your rabbit passing. That must have been terrible, especially with the new kits. I'm not very experienced with kits, as I've never bred any of my rabbits. Do you know anyone who has a doe with kits? You might be able to see if your little kit will be fed by them. It sounds like you're doing everything right, I'll be praying for you and your little kit. If you're very worried, try this forum: rabbitsonline.net/ It's more helpful for any illnesses or unhealthy rabbits than we are, and full of helpful members.

Hello My baby is 4 weeks now and is strong now. I got the 4 other babies back from my friend last Sunday together with their foster mother (or what you call it) The new mother is a white lop so it looks funny with 4 Dutch kits. Unfortunately I can't put the last baby together with the other babies because they have different intestine flora now. But it is so good to have the kit back so I can make them hand tame myself. Strange to have them back in the same cage with another mother. My bottle feeded kit is so cute and tame. Every time we pass by her she stands at her hind legs and want to be pet. All members of my family are talking with her a lot of times every day. I think she will be more tame than any other rabbit I have had. Do you understand that I want to keep her even when her markings are wrong? Aase

I'm so glad she's pulled through well. Rachel.

Ha-ha Rachel It is a pity that you live so far away or you could have bought on of the sisters and brothers. You can see them at a Danish Rabbit forum at kanintid.forumup.dk/viewtopic.php?t=3056&mforum=kanintidThey are cute too. I call my little kit for Sushi - in Denmark we call harlequin color for Japanese color (I don't know why) and Sushi is a Japanese dish. At the same time Sushi sounds like Susi, which is a girl's name here. Aase

Oh, yes. Both their mother and grand dad (both isabella Dutch) were good hoppers and their half brother from same mother is a good hopper. I just have 1 rabbit who don't want to hop. She is a Sachsengold and she is 7 years old. She never wanted to hop, but she is such a cute rabbit. I have a Dutch girl at 7 too and last evening she showed that she still want to hop and she still is able hop. Aase

Hello My little bottle kit is now at a little more than 600 gr and I am sure she will survive now. Every time I pass her cage she is ready to be talked with and when she comes out of the cage she runs very fast aroun on the floor. She is eating very well by herself now but I still give her 1 bottle in the evening to give her a good time. Aase

Hello Now my little bottle girl is 10 weeks old and we have started harness training. Haven't started hop training yet. We are not in a hurry. Harness training is important. When this is OK we will go on. This little girl is really imprinted on me and is at the door of the cage as soon as I am in the stable. So cute am I. So big am I Greetings Aase and Sushi Wasabi

She has to be one of the most beautiful rabbits I've ever seen! Keep us updated on her progress. I'd really like to hear how she goes. Rachel.
